Donation for affected areas

Staff at Stäubli Hangzhou observe 3 minutes of silence

On May 12, 2008, a strong earthquake shook Wenchuan county in Sichuan Province, resulting in heavy loss of life and property.     The Management of Stäubli is deeply saddened by this disaster. Mr. Rolf Strebel, Chief Executive Officer of Swiss-based Stäubli Group, stated, "On behalf of Stäubli employees worldwide, we offer our deepest sympathy and condolences to those impacted by this disaster. As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility, Stäubli has made a donation to people in the disaster-stricken areas."     The contribution of Stäubli has been topped up by individual donations of staff members and transferred to the Charity Federation of the Hangzhou Economic Development Zone. In addition to these donations, the Stäubli unit in Hangzhou has observed 3 minutes of silence on May 19 and flown its flags at half-mast out of respect for the victims. Support for the families of Stäubli Hangzhou staff located in Sichuan Province will be organised later on.
